A.1077 (Jaffee)/S.2516 (Savino)
An act to amend the social services law, in relation to the treatment of earned income of a child under the age of 18 and the income of an 18, 19, or 20-year-old household member when determining the eligibility of a household for a child care subsidy. See memo
A.1196 (Jaffee)/S.2517 (Savino)
An act to amend the social services law, in relation to parents and caretakers who work a late shift.
This bill would add a new subdivision to Social Services Law 410-w and would require that when a parent with a young child is otherwise eligible to receive a child care subsidy, and works the night shift, the local district should authorize a subsidy so that the parent can sleep. Currently, this is a local option and most districts do authorize care for these families. See memo
A.3498 (Peoples-Stokes)/S.2275 (Montgomery)
An act to amend the social services law, in relation to notice requirements to families and providers when funding cuts are made.
This bill amends §34-a of the Social Services Law to add a new subdivision 9 which incorporates a 90-day notice requirement when a planned reduction in eligibility or increase in co-payments for child care assistance are made. See memo
